New York City

Nothing exemplifies the American "melting pot" like New York City. Arriving from far-flung places, immigrants enriched New York with their culinary traditions. Jewish specialties like pastrami and all manner of Italian and Chinese dishes tantalized New Yorkers before gradually being absorbed into the culinary culture of the entire country. If people in the world are eating it, odds are you can find it in New York City. Russians, Puerto Ricans, Middle Easterners, Greeks--the list of those who have added to the flavor of New York City spans the globe, making New York's boroughs a treasure of world cuisines. Go ahead, bite the Big Apple; you won’t be sorry.

About me:
I am a college student (I cook mostly to avoid dorm food), and I'm studying dance...Ballet, modern, etc. Dance and food are two conflicting passions of mine, but I'm learning to reconcile them with healthy, energizing recipes. Most of my meals are slightly makeshift because I'm vegetarian and I have limited resources financially and equipmentally.

The batter is hard to spread in the pan, but I got a lot of compliments on it...taste and texture are wonderful in this.

Almost Stuffed Peppers

I can't believe how simple and GOOD this recipe was! I thought it would just be a quick fix dinner, but it ended up being fantastic! And so easy! I added fresh garlic, red bell peppers (since it was all I had on hand) and about a heaping tablespoon of Italian seasoning. Yummy!
