This was a huge hit with my picky family. I made a few changes based on comments made. Slice the peppers and add them toward the end. Add a few spices like garlic and Worchester sauce. We served it over rice. There were no leftovers.

This was very good..even the picky kids loved it. I did make some changes though since they are so picky. I bleded up the tomatoes so no chunks would be found. I also added minced garlic and didnt put in the peppers and onions until about 35 mins before serving. I served this over white rice. Will definitely make this again!

I made this recipe as written and it was just so-so. The sauce was nothing special and the steak wasn't overly tender (although this isn't likely any fault of the recipe). I am going to remake it at some point using pineapple in the sauce as another reviewer suggested.

I followed this recipe exactly except I followed advice from others and added the chopped pepper during the last hour of cooking. There wasn't a lot of sauce at this point and it was very runny so I followed some more advice and added a full can of beef broth and more cornstarch. This helped the look of the dish but then I tasted the sauce and noticed it was very very bland. So I followed another reviewers advice and added worcestershire sauce, which didn't go at all. I then added a splash of red wine hoping that would help and that didn't either. I am giving this 2 stars only because my husband didn't think it was completely awful but he doesn't want me to ever make it again. I didn't care for it even before all the changes I made and was very disappointed considering the amount of great reviews this got. My husband and I ate just enough to not be hungry anymore. Huge waste of money!

I thought this recipe was fantastic and a whole 8qt crockpot vanished very quickly. This was very easy to prepare and delicious with basmati rice. we will definitely make this one again and again....

I have made this several different ways depending on what ingredients I have in the house at the time. I usually just make it in a combination frypan/sauce pan and do not use a slow cooker. I usually double the soy sauce and sugar. Sometimes I used crushed tomatoes instead of stewed because my husband does not like chunks of vegetables. Also I do chop the green/red peppers so they disappear into the sauce for the same reason. I am sure this would work with children too...what they don't know can't hurt them!

Very tasty and pretty easy. I used low-sodium soy sauce and served it over rice. I'll definitely make it again.

Very easy and good. I have most of the ingredients on hand. We sopped up the gravy with slices of white bread. I will make rice with this next time.

I loved this dish! I made it just how the recipes reads, only I added minced garlic as one of the other review said. I served over brown rice w/ a hunk of french bread w/ butter on the side. It was so good I couldn't wait to eat the leftovers the next day!

Very good...I used salt reduced soy sauce and we found it plenty salty...never added the additional salt. Only used one green pepper. While I was browning the meat, I added the onion for browning. It smelled wonderful while cooking!!

This was an excellent recipe!! I only made one change to this recipe. I added the peppers two hours before it was done in order to keep them from getting mushy.

I didn't even bother with the browning in oil part and saved those calories as well! Just threw everything in the crockpot and let it cook away. I did use the Italian seasoned stewed tomatoes as another reviewer suggested. Good idea! Also did 1 red, 1 green pepper. Next time I will try this with Rotel Original Tomatoes and see how it tastes with more hot type spice.

Very tasty but when in the crock pot,but you need to add more liquids. This is a very easy throw togehter meal for a weeknight!great for those who like pepper steak. Tip when using stewed tomatoes, use one with the Italian seasonings. It adds more flavor to the dish.

I bought beef that was already sliced, but other than that, no changes and I thought this was wonderful! I cooked on low for six hours, and added the peppers halfway through since I like them soft but not too mushy. Served over white rice. I can't wait to have this again!
